Perfectionism is a Greedy Master

Perfectionism is a greedy master. It demands more energy than it yields results.

Some people have elevated perfectionism to a high virtue. In fact, it is an obstacle that rarely leads to fulfilled, satisfied accomplishment. For even in success, perfectionism says, “not good enough.”

There is value in wanting to improve your performance and striving to become the best. However, perfectionism will not get you there. Achieving success means believing in yourself and giving yourself some credit. Perfectionism is negative self-talk disguised as something positive. “You want to be better, don’t you?” It innocently asks.

Perfectionism never permits happiness or a true feeling of achievement. Instead, it robs the person of all the joy that might be known from his or her successes.

Let go of the need to be perfect. You’re human. It’s OK. We all are. Instead, choose to be happy and productive.

Stay inspired!
