Why Military Industrial Complex Sold You RussiaGate

"For as long as Winston can recall, Oceania has been in a constant state of war – with whom it was at war is of neither importance nor consequence."
~George Orwell, 1984

I write this article with some trepidation, but we are committed to providing truthful analysis on 6SM and that's what I intend to do. You may need to take your partisan political hat off and put your common sense hat on, if you are going to get the most from this article.

For what I'm about to write, has only a peripheral connection to President Trump, Hillary Clinton, or last year's election, despite what you have been conditioned to believe. Nor is it a defense or whitewashing of Vladimir Putin or his past.  It has everything to do with the world we are about to pass on to the next generation and the lies that are creating it.

Imagine you are in possession of a trillion dollar per year cash cow, the biggest single enterprise anywhere on the planet. You have perpetual guaranteed funding and dozens of mega billion dollar corporations feeding voraciously at your trough. All you need to do to keep that gravy train flowing is make sure that peace never, ever breaks out on the planet.

That is one way to describe the Military Industrial Complex. It is an enterprise committed, not to peace and stability in the world, but to chaos, war, and instability because that is what keeps the cash flowing.

Question for you. Would you ever, under any circumstances, allow peace to break out in the world if you were making that kind of money hand-over-fist simply by finding and selling the next enemy? Neither would they.

In his 1961 farewell address, President Eisenhower gave us the following warning. This is precisely what has happened.

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."

Why Russia? Sure they have North Korea and Iran and Middle East terrorists, but those are snack-sized morsels. To make sure that money keeps on flowing, it's easier to have a big, permanent, scary enemy. There are really only two nations in the world that fit that bill and could be sold as legitimate adversaries - Russia and China.

China was never going to be that enemy, even though we growl at each other now and again in the Pacific. The fact is The United States and China need each economically. In fact, it's a matter absolute survival. China has built their booming economy on the back of American consumerism and the US has built its economic paradigm on cheap Chinese goods which keep things affordable while wages stagnate for 30 years.

Russia, on the other hand, is a perfectly saleable enemy. They still have hundreds of nuclear missiles, a sketchy former KGB leader, and mistrust of the Ruskies is practically built into the American DNA from 50 years of the first Cold War. They're big and they're scary. That's an enemy we can sell.

This was not a plan cooked up in 2016 or after Donald Trump took office. In fact, it's what Donald Trump was openly saying on the campaign trail that created RussiaGate. He didn't see why The United States and Russia had to be enemies. He didn't see why we couldn't work together in the world on areas of common interest. He could not be allowed to open that door and go down that road.

The Military Industrial Complex had spent the previous 20 years working to surround and isolate Russia (see map at right) through expansion of NATO after Bill Clinton guaranteed Boris Yeltsin it wouldn't happen. This had gone on despite numerous overtures by President Putin asking to collaborate and work with NATO only to be rebuffed. Our bipartisan leadership has been and remains absolutely committed to making Russia the new big enemy and having a very profitable second Cold War.

In July 2016, Politico published an article titled Why Putin Hates Hillary. No doubt, the purpose of this article was to sell you the lie I'm speaking of. Ironically, it does a masterful job of laying out all the ways the Military Industrial Complex has poked and provoked Russia for 20 plus years. This is what I mean when I say they have worked to create this new Cold War.

When Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, there were klaxon horns sounding the in halls of the MIC. They must keep Trump hemmed in and incapable of warming relations with the Russians. Meanwhile, an unexpected gift had fallen into their lap. They had half a nation angry, shocked, and needing a scapegoat for the election's outcome. It was time to sell Russia as the enemy and the reason Hillary Clinton was not elected.

Thus was born one of the most brilliant clandestine ops ever run against the American people. The trillion dollar momma bear and its mega billion dollar dependents threw their considerable weight behind selling that Russia had stolen the election and Trump had colluded with them to do it. It played right into the hands of what many people wanted to believe. It hamstrung a president from detente, and it made Russia public enemy number one. It wasn't hard. MIC and its dependents are practically baked into MSM newsrooms. Through direct ownership and advertising dollars, they have massive control to plant and sell practically any narrative.

So shrill and ridiculous became the "two minutes of hate" against Russia day in and day out, that it seemed many were ready for an actual hot war with Russia. Demagogues a plenty in media and government fed into the frenzy.

Let's be real. The supposed investigation has been going on for over a year. The people cheered last week when it produced indictments against 13 supposed Russian hackers who will never be tried, allowing people to keep on believing what they want to believe.

How are we doing? News media outlets have seen viewership and readership rise rapidly. The biggest media demagogues, and if you think I'm talking about you I probably am, have seen ratings sky rocket and their contracts multiplied. The Military Industrial Complex just got a $160 billion dollar bipartisan supported increase - more than all but one other nation on the planet spends on military and intelligence in total. The mega billion dollar corporations are lining up for their share.

Where are you? Where is the world? Well, all of this has bought your kids and your grandkids decades more of a dangerous world from which the Military Industrial Complex must keep you safe. The world is a far more dangerous place because Russia seems to have given up trying to collaborate and is all in for having that second Cold War and the dozens of proxy wars it will spawn around the planet. Wars where innocent people who have nothing to do with this need to dominate the world will die and suffer.

How do you feel about that? Was the two minutes of hate worth it? Do you feel taken yet again by a system ten moves ahead your emotional outbursts? Problem. Reaction. Solution. They successfully executed it once again.

Perhaps one day, when Trump is long gone, people will come to their senses and refuse to be played. That day, obviously, is not today.

A better world is there for the taking, but we have to start seeing through this nonsense and having our emotions turned against us. We have to stop buying expedient storylines that feed our prejudices to sell the bigger lie.
